Roy Bickell retires

Roy’s first job was in the Lloyds of London market working for an international broker when he first left school. Eventually, after many years in the City, and after acquiring his CII status, he formed his own brokerage in Wickford, Essex. Initially this was a ‘general insurance’ brokerage specialising in Commercial Lines, and out of this grew the Life and Pensions arm that eventually became Bickell and Newell Limited. Roy moved the business to Hockley in the late 90’s, and we took over the servicing of his clients in 2005 in order to progressively take over the management of his business to permit an ‘orderly’ retirement.

Martin Lamb is personally overseeing the affairs of Roy’s ‘old’ clients, many of whom he has already met. Martin hopes to meet the remainder over the next year or so, with the help of Roy who is retaining a consultancy role here at Lambs, as his detailed knowledge of his clients financial affairs and personal circumstances is invaluable when we formulate any new Financial Advice or Plans going forwards.

We wish Roy a very long, healthy and happy retirement, and would like to thank him for his valuable contribution to Joseph R Lamb over the last few years.
